What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a form of psychotherapy during which a trained professional guides the client into a state of heightened awareness using  relaxation techniques.  This is in that deep relaxed stated when the subconscious mind is reached and healing takes place. 

How can hypnosis help with difficult past experiences?

Painful past experiences can cause not only emotional wounds but also physical ones. Unattended and untreated trauma stores in both the body and the mind.  Our mind responds only to two things: the thoughts we form and the pictures we build in our heads about people (including ourselves), places and situations. 

Toxic and negative thoughts can  pollute  one’s mind and  the body. These thoughts then become believes individuals live by every day if not corrected. The body will respond accordingly to the thoughts and pictures one holds on to by producing stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. Living in a chronic state of stress, fear, anxiety or negativity overworks the nervous system. That explains one of the reasons why people who have been exposed to a hurtful  event or have been living in abusive/toxic relationships can display symptoms of anxiety or stress. Their nervous systems are constantly overworking by being  in a fight or flight modes.

 Hypnosis can guide an individual to the time the believes and images causing unhealthy responses were formed and help to heal them. Consequently, emotional and physical symptoms can and, with following the post session recommendations, will diminish. 

Who is it for ?

Both children and adults can be hypnotized. You will need a note from your primary care physician if you experience heart problems, epilepsy or a low blood pressure. 

What problems can be treated with hypnotherapy?

A variety of psychological and medical issues can be treated using hypnotherapy.  Symptoms related to difficult past experiences  that hypnosis has been found to be effective for are:

How do the sessions look like?

Each session lasts between 60-90 minutes.  This is what we will do: 

  1. Pretalk- we will discuss your goal and what you want to heal.
  2. Relaxation induction- you will be listening to a relaxing music and guided meditation script.
  3. Healing or directive- you will be guided to find a reason (s) for your problem and start healing it.
  4. Post hypnotic suggestion-  healing   affirmation (s) will be introduced based on your healing goals.
  5. Recording- a recording of the guided relaxation script and the healing affirmations will be made for you to listen to for 30 days.
